MyStory

2018-2021

I had developed a talent and appreciation for art and design throughout my GCSE and A-level studies. This background grew into a interest in architecure, and then later completing my architectural studies at University Of Liverpool. After graduating, I built a portfolio that conisisted of all of my acedemic projects.

Sept 2021-Sept 2022

This was a year of self-disovery for me. I got my first taste of commercial experience working as an IT recruitment consultant. This improved my confidence and professionalism and allowed me to converse with Tech & Design professionals, which sparked my interest for digital design. I was also an architecutral assistant for a short period, and despite the lack of training and support recieved, I obtained some valauble insights into the industry and witnessed the key responsiblites of an architect. I was grateful for the work experience and skills that I acquired over the year, however I decided to take a career break to further upskill, develop and explore further my passion and appreciation for design.

Sept – Dec 2022

I later discovered graphic design and coding, and began self-teaching by watching step-by-step tutorial videos.

Dec 2022 – Feb 2023

After doing more research, I came across UX UI Design. I immeidately noticed the parellels between architecture and UX/UI Design, which intrgued me even more. So, I began creating my own small UX/UI passion projects.

Feb 2023 – Present

Seeking further UX/UI knowledge, mentorship, and group collaboration, I received a scholarship and was enrolled on to the University of Birmingham UX UI bootcamp. Despite the intensity of the online course teachings and requirements, overall this was the most wholesome and impactful study expierence I have ever had. The support, resources and career advice were valueable and I intend to use the skills and knowledge aquired to succeed . I am now ready to embark on my career journey as a digital designer.
